In the early nineties, digital photographic cameras became commercially available to consumers. Since the introduction of the digital camera, the way photography is conducted has been radically changed. These changes were slow in development, but are now considered part of everyday life. Some of the changes that have occurred are:
1. Camera film is no longer the prime means of recording pictures.
2. You no longer have to wait days to see your pictures. They are available immediately.
3. Since the pictures are available immediately, you can notice if your picture is the one you want or if you need to take another picture.
4. Pictures taken digitally, can be storaged on your computer almost indefinitely. If you want to protect your pictures, there are servers that will store them for you. Some of these servers are free, while some charge a small monthly fee.
5. You can arrange the pictures to present them as a slide show on your computer and email them to friends and relatives.
6. You can immediately send your pictures to friends and family via the Net.
7. Most digital cameras today can even take video which you can store on your computer.
As you can see, to enjoy these benefits of the digital camera, you really need a computer with a Universal Serial bus (USB) that you can connect to your camera to the computer.
So you can see, with the coming of digital camera, there have been some major changes in the way we take and process our pictures.
One of the better cameras on the market now is the Canon PowerShot SX201S. I bought one of these and if you go to this link you will see some photos I took with it and two videos I took with the Canon PowerShot SX201S
