Best BATTERY LIFE on a rechargeable digital camera?
Preferably one that I could plug into the computer with a USB or something.
I can’t stand running to a gas station or comer store when I’m out with friends, because my piece of shit camera eats up batteries like you wouldn’t believe it!
I’m going to Best Buy this weekend to ask around, just looking for some advice.

You will have to buy a camera that uses Li-ion batteries to get the BEST battery life.
I have two original batteries I bought with my 8 year old Nikon D100 and they are still performing as they did new … this after over 200,000 shutter cycles. Now that is both performance AND life. The number of shots per charge has much more to do with your energy management, than the camera or battery.
* Always turn off the camera if you are not going to be taking another shot in a few minutes.
* Know that if you use the built-in flash on your camera, the number of shots per charge will be cut in about half.
* racking the zoom in and out uses a lot of battery power
* however the worst user of power is the cameras LCD. I keep mine off all the time.
